The Origins of Our Business
Our company was founded by Les Cooke in 1972 when he realised the need for high-quality services to manufacture, overhaul, repair and modify instruments. He named the company Les Cooke Instrument Co after himself.
Our company’s initial work with aircraft instruments expanded into industrial instrumentation. Since then, we have achieved NATA accreditation for calibration. Our NATA Laboratory (No 1736 registered in 1983) is accredited for testing and calibration of pressure instruments, including calibrators. Our Quality System is accredited to Australian Standard AS ISO/IEC 17025.
Les Cooke Today
In June 2003, Les Cooke retired, and Robert Crawford bought the company. Rob served his apprenticeship as an Instrument Maker & Repairer with Les and has been continuously employed with the company for over 25 years. His product knowledge and understanding of customers’ specific requirements are extensive and ensure that the quality of service continues.
While still a small business, our staff have over 72 combined years of specialised experience in repair, calibration and manufacturing of instrumentation to standard and unique specifications.
